schum pavilion// mainz, germany

The state of Rhineland-Pfalz is pursuing the goal of having its SchUM cities included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The task is to design and place a temporary SchUM pavilion on the cathedral squares of the cities parallel to the application for the World Heritage List. The idea here was to create a form that har- monically unites three units into a whole. These result in three different exhibition spaces that can be adapted and used as needed. Through the placement of the entrances, deepens the connection of the forms; as they face each other, linking and forming a circuit. The roof shapes bring all the entrances to a common point, creating a unique effect that leads the spectators inside.
