wine house// terroir
"Terroir is the combination of climate, soil and landscape, the interaction of an infinite number of factors: Night and day temperatures, rainfall distribution, sunshine hours, slope inclination and soil permeability, just to name a few. All these factors react with each other and form what the French winemaker calls terroir in every single part of a wine growing area."
With this design, we thus embark on a search for the terroir of architecture. An architecture that develops its conception in the most direct way from the earth in and on which it is placed. The earth is the mirror of the site, its climatic conditions, its topography and geology, but also its social history and cultural heritage.
